Raw Wool Processing

Skirt/Wash

Skirting & Washing is the initial cleaning stage to remove dirt, lanoline, felted pieces and poop etc. Each fleece will be assessed as to whether I feel I can wash

Card

Carding aligns the fibers to ready them for the next step. If you’re looking to felt or use as a batting in a quilt….carded wool is for you!

Rolags

Rolags are used for those that love to spin from Rolags. Creative color combos can be achieved with this method.

Roving

For those that love to spin. I make roving on a drum carder. Each one comes in the size of a ball that fits in your hand. Closer to the width of pin draft.

2 ply Spun Yarn

I spin all the yarn on my Ashford spinning wheel. It’s not perfect, it’s unique and sometimes quirky in it’s widths.
